ToolTracker takes a YouTube video about AI or tech and pulls out the tools, frameworks and technologies it mentions. It adds each one’s official link, skips the ones already recorded, and writes the results to a Google Sheet. It is meant for personal research and productivity.
How it works
It gets the transcript from Gemini’s video API first and falls back to YouTube’s transcript API. Gemini is also its primary language model, with Ollama or Hugging Face as optional fallbacks.
Fuzzy matching keeps the same tool from being added twice, and repeat runs are served from a cache. It runs in the terminal with live progress and is built to stay within the free tiers of the APIs it calls.
